About Us
Youth Action for Success and Development (YASD) is a dynamic, youth-led organization based in Lilongwe, Malawi. Founded in 2019, YASD is committed to uplifting young people and creating opportunities for youth to lead in areas of health, climate action, gender justice, and education. Registered under Malawi’s Companies Act as a Private Limited by Guarantee, YASD partners with national and international organizations to reach the most marginalized and vulnerable communities across Malawi, creating lasting and transformative change.

We envision a society where youth are not only empowered but are active participants in driving sustainable development. Our ideal future is one where young people and vulnerable groups thrive and have the opportunities they need to grow economically, mentally, and physically, contributing meaningfully to the world around them.
Mission
Our mission is to serve and uplift youth and adolescents, fostering self-reliance, dignity, and resilience. Through capacity-building initiatives, we work to create an environment where young people are inspired to fulfill their potential, building a better Malawi through constructive roles in their communities.

Our Approach
Community-Driven Programs
At YASD, we believe that impactful change starts within communities. We work directly with local youth, adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), and community leaders to co-design and implement programs that address real issues. By empowering youth voices, we ensure our initiatives are relevant, sustainable, and deeply rooted in the needs of the people we serve.
Collaborative Partnerships
To extend our reach and impact, YASD partners with community-based youth organizations, AGYW groups, civil society organizations, and government bodies. Through these alliances, we are able to bridge gaps, increase access to essential resources, and create a network of support that spans across Malawi.
Key Focus Areas
Health and Wellbeing
We prioritize Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and mental health, equipping young people with the knowledge and resources to make informed health decisions.
Climate Action
YASD promotes climate literacy and engages youth in sustainable environmental practices, empowering communities to take action against climate change.
Gender Justice
We advocate for gender equality, addressing social injustices and empowering AGYW to become leaders and changemakers within their communities.
Education
We work to ensure that underprivileged adolescents and young people have access to quality education, recognizing it as a fundamental pillar for personal and societal development.
