Capacity Building Training for Youth and Women in Chigonthi

Youth Action for Success and Development (YASD) conducted a two-day intensive training in Chigonthi, TA Chitukula, targeting youth and women with practical skills in leadership, business management, and advocacy. The activity builds on previous interventions implemented under the Greening the Future Project, funded by the Hlanganisa Community Fund, which focused on climate-smart agriculture.

The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of participants from GVH Mlezi and GVH Chigonthi 1 to effectively engage in community development processes. Sessions focused on enhancing participants’ ability to approach farming as a business, assume leadership roles, and advocate for their rights and priorities within local governance structures. Particular attention was given to youth and women representatives serving in Village Development Committees (VDCs) and Area Development Committees (ADCs), with emphasis on their role in influencing decision-making processes, including equitable access to the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The activity contributes to YASD’s broader objective of strengthening inclusive participation and local accountability in development processes.
